Yak Yak Spore Swab Pack

If you want to buy Yak Yak mushroom spore swabs, be cautious as Yak Yak mushroom spores are “Active spores” which are for microscopy or artistic purposes. We will not complete your order if you contact us regarding the cultivation of active spores. Similarly, for legal reasons if you mention cultivation of these spores or ask for cultivating advice, you will be subsequently banned from the site.

These spores are from a species that produces psilocybin and psilocin. For legal reasons can only ship to 47 out of the 50 United States. Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, and Georgia.

Sonoran Spores acquires these spores and photos from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. Further, Sonoran Spores does not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin/psilocin producing or “active” species. Sonoran Spores also does not have any mycelium or fruiting bodies of psilocybin and psilocin producing species. We will not sell any products containing this so do not ask.

Spore Visibility Disclaimer: When you buy Yak Yak mushroom spore swabs, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visually. All swabs are unique and may not look identical to each other or the picture above. Despite these visible differences, spore swabs are still viable for microscopy research.

Yak Yak Strain Origin Features

Yak Yak is a newer strain that we are excited to be carrying! This new mushroom strain is distinguished with white long stems that are also decently thick leading to its cap. Its cap is round throughout and hardly opens up to expose its gills. Even as it matures the cap only hardly opens and barely deposits spores. Meaning that this strain is not the best spore depositor and swabs are the most practical way to obtain them. The colors of the cap are a brown in the center and fading to a yellow/orangish color as it leads to the edges. These spores are for more dedicated microscopist with some time and experience under the microscope looking to reach the next level. Finding these spores will be difficult anywhere else so place your order and be one of the first to study it!

We strive to provide you with the cleanest possible products. We make and package all of the Yak Yak spore swabs in front of Laminar Flow Hoods with HEPA filters. These HEPA filters have an efficiency rating of 99.97%. Meaning that the filter removes 99.97% of particles in the air.

Yak Yak Spores are dark purple to brownish. The spores are also subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on 4-spored basidia. The caps are 30-50mm in diameter with a convex to little conic shape. Prints are generally not dropped from the cap and they are generally poor spore providers.

Research Difficulty

Extremely Light Depositor Mushrooms that typically have problems with producing spores, either because of genetic lineage or species variability. Typically these mushrooms produces spores on 50 percent or less of fully mature fruits and rarely drop them from the gills.
