Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, & Georgia. These 3 states strictly prohibit the possession of spores from psilocybin and also psilocin producing mushroom species. Orders to these states are refused and subsequently voided. Any payments made for orders to CA, ID, or GA will incur a $5 cancellation fee.

The provided images are for informational and educational purposes only and are used as a reference point only. Sonoran Spores acquires all spores and photos from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We do not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin or psilocin producing mushroom species.

When you buy Azurescens swabs, spore visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they’re still viable for microscopy research.

Psilocybe Azurescens Spore Information

Psilocybe Azurescens is a very popular mushroom species to study underneath the microscope that goes by a multitude of other names. These include, Flying Saucers, Blue Meanies, Blue Angels, Blue Runners, and many more. To begin, the back story of this species discovery depicts a group of Boy Scout boys setting up camp near the mouth of the Columbia River back in 1979. Later, in 1995, Paul Staments formally named it “Psilocybe Azurescens.” In addition, this was a tribute to his son, Azureus.
Mycologists know these fungi primarily grow naturally along coastlines amongst coastal dunes as well as within coastal grass clumps. Furthermore, they are usually found growing on soils or sands that are abundant in ligneous debris. Meaning, that in nature they prefer woody substrates in nature. Their mycelium is dense, string, extensive and known to grip the substrate firmly. Their fruiting season is late September when the cold weather begins. This continues into late December to early January and can tolerate to early January. This means they can tolerate extremely cold temperatures.
