Pioppino (Agrocybe aegerita) also commonly goes by the name of Black Poplar. This is a delicious gourmet mushroom that’s known for its sweet, nutty, and slightly peppery taste. Even when cooked, Pioppino keeps its crunch and is often compared to the texture of cooked broccoli. 

Pioppino are found growing on decaying hardwood, most commonly on poplars, which is how it got its other common name, Black Poplar. They can also be grown indoors on supplemented hardwood sawdust bags. Interestingly, Pioppino also does well on all-in-1 grow bags.
