Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, & Georgia. These 3 states strictly prohibit the possession of spores from psilocybin and psilocin producing mushroom species. We will refuse and void any orders made to these 3 states. Furthermore, any payments made for orders to CA, ID, or GA will incur a $5 cancellation fee.

The provided images are for informational and educational purposes only and are used as a reference point only. We acquire all images and spores from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We also do not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin or psilocin producing mushroom species.

When buying Blue Meanie swabs, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they are still viable for microscopy research.

Origin Information

This is a P. Cubensis variety that is a unique addition to any spore library. Mainly because it is both interesting and reliable under the microscope.  Don’t confuse this with the numerous other mushrooms nicknamed “blue meanie.” Such as P. Azurescens or Panaeolus Cyanescens These particular spores belong to the variety of Cubensis that many other common varieties such as “B+” and “Golden Teacher” also belong to. Blue Meanie spores are pretty popular within the microscope community, which is why we regularly stock and dedicate ourselves to keeping them in our extensive spore library.

The reason this Cubensis obtained the name “Blue Meanies,” is due to the fact that they bruise very easily. The smallest physical touch or jolt can cause blue bruising that is especially noticeable on this Cubensis strain. Most think they originate from Southern Australia, an area whose climate can sustain natural mushrooms. After this discovery, someone collected the spores and introduced the word to one of the most popular strains we have to date!
