B-Xtra LC Information

From the depths of the Sonoran Spores labs comes… BXtra! It’s an exciting Cubensis variety with an endless amount of opportunities for experimentation. Similar to how OG TAT is an albino Golden Teacher, BXtra is a stabilized albino B+. 

These genetics are a lot of fun to work with. They’re quick and create absolutely stunning research results. Key characteristics of BXtra include: pure white mushrooms with fat caps and fat stems (commonly reminiscent of Penis Envy), a deep, dark blue spot on the cap after maturity, and oftentimes the caps will create interesting cracked formations. 

Other notable mutations we have observed are stems with 2 caps, caps with stems protruding from the tops, and the occasional inside-out caps. Whether you’re a phenohunter, albino crazy, or simply enjoy large yielding research results, you’ll definitely enjoy working with BXtra!

Microscopic Features

Be sure to take into consideration that because B-Xtra is an albino variety, they will have transparent spores and they will be clear when viewing underneath the microscope. The spores are subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on a 4-spored basidia. They are approximately 13×8 micrometers in size.

Liquid culture syringes (also sometimes called ISO’s) contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than normal multispore syringes (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present a more uniform phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research.
