OG T.A.T. ISO Information
Isolated spore syringes, also known as ISO syringes, contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than a normal multispore syringe (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present only one phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research.
True Albino Teachers (TAT) have become extremely popular within the microscopy community in the last year or so. It’s an entirely new genetic line that was first started by Jik Fibs. OG TAT is what started it all. It was an albino mutation observed in 5 specimens in a tub of Golden Teachers. Jik Fibs then took samples from those albinos and began to isolate the genetics. Soon, it was completely isolated and produced albino mushrooms every time. Following this was the creation of the Facebook group called the “TAT syndicate.” From there, the TAT syndicate began finding new interesting isolation and crosses such as TAT Yeti and TAT Jack Frost.
Microscopic Features
Its important to note that because they are an albino variety, OG T.A.T. will have transparent spores. When spores are clear they can bruise blue leading the swab to appear blue rather than clear. The spores are subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on a 4-spored basidia. They are approximately 13×8 micrometers in size. Once you put them under the microscope, they will be clear. The caps are 40-60mm in diameter with a convex to flat shape and the edges commonly flip upwards.
