Disclaimers

If you want to buy Jack Frost spores, be cautious as TAT “Jack Frost” mushroom strain are “active spores” which are for microscopy or artistic purposes. Spore Visibility Disclaimer: When you buy clean “Jack Frost” spores, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visually. All swabs are unique and may not look identical to each other or the picture above. Despite these visible differences, spore swabs are still viable for microscopy research.

Jack Frost Spores Information

Jack Frost has become a favored TAT variety. This is probably because it is the result hybrid of 2 already highly acclaimed mushroom varieties; it is a cross between True Albino Teachers (T.A.T.) x Albino Penis Envy! This cross is sought after in the microscopy community and is definitely a must have in any spore collection!

True Albino Teachers (TAT) have become extremely popular within the microscopy community in the last year or so. It’s an entirely new genetic line that was first started by Jik Fibs. OG TAT is where it all started. It was an albino mutation observed in 5 specimens in a tub of Golden Teachers. Jik Fibs began to take samples from those albinos and isolate the genetics. Soon, it was completely isolated and produced albino mushrooms every time. Following this was the creation of the Facebook group called the “TAT syndicate.” The TAT Syndicate and Jik Fibs would slowly start stabilizing and releasing new genetics to a select group of very trusted individuals. We are proud to know some of these individuals and now carry these rare genetics that have gained popularity over the last year.

In order to provide you with the cleanest possible products, we make and package all of the TAT “Jack Frost” spore swabs in front of Laminar Flow Hoods with HEPA filters. These HEPA filters have an efficiency rating of 99.97%. Meaning that the filter removes 99.97% of particles in the air.

Microscopic Features

When you buy OG TAT Swabs its important to note that because they are an albino variety, they will have transparent spores. When spores are clear they can bruise blue leading the swab to appear blue rather than clear. Once you put them under the microscope, they will be clear. The spores are subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on a 4-spored basidia. They are approximately 13×8 micrometers in size. The caps are 20-50mm in diameter with a convex to flat shape and the edges commonly flip upwards.

Finding TAT genetics are hard as it is but to find a large variety of them in one place is the best of all worlds. These are some of the craziest spores to study!
