Disclaimer:

When buying Texas Yellow Cap spore syringes, be aware that they’re considered “active spores” which are for microscopy purposes only. DO NOT CONTACT US ABOUT ANYTHING REGARDING CULTIVATING OR GERMINATING ACTIVE SPORES.

Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, & Georgia. These 3 states strictly prohibit the possession of spores from psilocybin and psilocin producing mushroom species. Orders to these states will be refused and voided. Any payments made for orders to CA, ID, or GA will incur a $5 cancellation fee.

The provided images are for informational and educational purposes only and should only be used as a reference point. Images and spores are acquired from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We do not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin or psilocin producing mushroom species.

When you buy Texas Yellow Cap syringes, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore syringes will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, spore syringes are still viable for microscopy research. More information on how we make our spore syringes and possible visible differences, check out our FAQ or blog post How To Make Spore Syringes.

Origin information

This is a variety that is related to Texas Orange Cap (TOC) and is said to be created in 1998 by an amateur mycologist. This means they act as a domesticated strain which is great for beginner microscopists as their spores are designed to be extremely contaminant resistant.

Though they are related to the classic Texas Orange Cap strain there are some differences mainly in the appearance. They tend to be a little taller than their TOC counterparts. And like most mushrooms, they have a hemispheric cap that expands with age. Though there are some difference, the aggression and strength of the mycelium is very similar to TOC as they are both strong and hardy. But, TYC would be a little more resilient meaning these spores will be especially great for people who are learning how to handle spores. Once they grow their difference becomes more distinct. As one would expect the colors are different. They are much more bright yellow and pop rather than the flatter orange of the TOC.

As a starting microscopist, TYC might be perfect as it hardy nature is almost designed for amateurs to handle. Don’t miss out order your TYC mushroom swabs today!

Specimens arrived quickly and were very clean. Looked great under the microscope! Troy was great to work with and I look forward to purchasing more genetics through Sonoran Spores.
