Disclaimer

When buying KSSS Peyote spores, be aware that they’re considered “active spores” which are for microscopy purposes only. DO NOT CONTACT US ABOUT ANYTHING REGARDING CULTIVATING OR GERMINATING ACTIVE SPORES.

Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, & Georgia. These 3 states strictly prohibit the possession of spores from psilocybin and also psilocin producing mushroom species. Orders to these states are subsequently refused and voided. Any payments made for orders to CA, ID, or GA will incur a $5 cancellation fee.

The provided images are for informational and educational purposes only and are used as a reference point only. Sonoran Spores acquires all spores and photos from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We also do not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin or psilocin producing mushroom species.

When you buy KSSS Peyote swabs, spore visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they’re still viable for microscopy research.

KSSS Peyote Strain Origin Features

KSSS Peyote is an isolation stemming from the KSSS-True variety. The KSSS stands for “Koh Samui Super Strain” and is a highly sought after variety of mushroom. But, this KSSS Peyote is much more new and rare to the mycology community. Nicknamed “Peyote”, because the mushroom fruits tend to look similar to a peyote button. Similarly to peyote buttons, the fruits of these KSSS themselves are small, round and dense.

They do not grow tall, but fatten and get wider. It’s caps are a light brown color with a yellow hue to it and it also has white spots throughout. As it matures the caps will open and flair out. But because its caps open does not mean its a good spore provider. As it is in the KSSS family this mushroom does not really drop spore prints, so spores must be collected directly from the gills. This is done using clean and sterile spore swabs. With this being said, each swab is much more valuable as this is a new strain with difficult spores to acquire.

Microscopic Features

KSSS Peyote spores are dark purple to brownish. The spores are also subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on 4-spored basidia. The caps are 30-50mm in diameter with extreme deformities that leave it small and fat, like a peyote button. Additionally, prints are generally not dropped from the cap and they are generally poor spore providers.
