Psilocybe Hoogshagenii Mushroom Spore Print

Disclaimer

If you want to buy Psilocybe Hoogshagenii mushroom prints, be cautious as Psilocybe Hoogshagenii spores are “active spores” which are for microscopy or artistic purposes. We will not complete your order if you contact us regarding the cultivation of active spores. Similarly, for legal reasons if you mention cultivating active spores or ask for cultivating advice, you will be subsequently banned from the site.

These spores are from a species that produces psilocybin and psilocin. For legal reasons they can only ship to 47 out of the 50 United States. Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, and Georgia.

Sonoran Spores acquires these spores and photos from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner.  Further, Sonoran Spores does not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin/psilocin producing or “active” species.  Sonoran Spores also does not have any mycelium or fruiting bodies of psilocybin and psilocin producing species.  We will not sell any products containing this so do not ask.

Spore Visibility Disclaimer: When you buy Psilocybe Hoogshagenii spore prints, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore prints will look the same visually. Despite these visible differences, spore prints are still viable for microscopy research.

Psilocybe Hoogshagenii Origin Information

Psilocybe Hoogshagenii (Semperviva) is an interesting mushroom species to add to any spore library. We are excited to offer it to the community! Found all throughout Southern America, but they are in predominately in Mexico. They prefer the subtropical coffee plantations that have clay soil rich in nutrients. Natives of the San Agustin Loxicha region in Mexico describe the mushrooms to grow simultaneously and in large flushes

Like ATL #7, there was some mystery surrounding this mushrooms classification. This makes it fun for all levels of microscopist to try and study. You can try to classify the mushroom spores and see what success/difficulties other researches had! It was first described as “Psilocybe Subtropicalis.” It later changed to “Psilocybe Hoogshagenii var. Semperviva”.

Semperviva  means “ever living” which describes this mushrooms hardy and contamination resistant nature. Hence making Hoogshagenii swabs great for novices getting into the hobby. This is because it will be forgiving against contaminations. Soon later it was thought to be “Psilocybe Hoogshagenii var. Convexa.”  Until finally, Alan Rockefeller genetically sequenced the mushroom and gave it its true classification of “Psilocybe Hoogshagenii.”

Hoogshagenii mushrooms are a red/brown color all throughout and have flecks of white spots. The stems are skinny to medium in density and lead to a bell shaped cap. These caps can be conical or convex until maturing and opening up more. Overall these Hoogshagenii prints are a fun and exciting purchase for first time hobbyist, to veteran microscopist!
