Black Pearl Oyster is a human bred mushroom that is a hybrid between Pearl Oyster and King Oyster. It was created in Japan- both Japan and China are very advanced when it comes to commercial mushroom cultivation. Black Pearl more closely resembles King Oyster in looks, however has a softer texture more similar to that of Pearl Oysters. As Black Pearls mature, the caps begin to flip and they start to look more like Pearl Oysters.
