When you buy Galactic Gorilla spore swabs, spore visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they’re still viable for microscopy research.

Galactic Gorilla Information

Galactic Gorilla is a new albino Cubensis variety that was created by PsyTeamUnited. It was carefully isolated from a SV-13 x APE cross. SV-13 is another Cubensis isolation to come from PsyTeamUnited. Specifically, it’s the 13th generation hybrid of APE x Chodewave! Bringing all of these fascinating genetics together created a true masterpiece of otherworldly specimens. 

These spores are known to produce incredibly aggressive results underneath the microscope. The spores themselves come from pure white mushrooms. They tend to have very thick stems that are dense with mycelium. The caps are also very large and fleshy. Furthermore, the edges of the caps tend to ruffle and flip outward, subsequently exposing the gills. 

Another thing that is interesting about Galactic Gorilla, and one of the main reasons that mycologists and spore researchers are so drawn to it, is that the mushrooms are incredibly potent with psilocybin. While we don’t condone cultivating active mushrooms, it’s certainly worth mentioning that lab tests show that they produce ~3% psilocybin per 1 gram! 

Microscopic Features

It’s important to note that because Galactic Gorilla is an albino variety, they will have transparent spores. When spores are clear they can bruise blue leading the swab to appear blue rather than clear. Once you put them under the microscope, they will be clear. The spores themselves have a subellipsoid (ellipse) shape and they are present on a 4-spored basidia.
