Tidal Wave 4 ISO Info

Isolated spore syringes, also known as ISO syringes, contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than a normal multispore syringe (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present only one phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research.

Tidal Wave 4 is the fourth isolation in a series of Tidal Wave isolations done by Magic Myco (more information on their other amazing work can be found HERE). The original Tidal Wave is a hybrid of two of some of the most popular Cubensis varieties: B+ and Penis Envy. Tidal Wave is favored among researchers because in the wild, its mycelium produces very quickly and it seems to be resistant to many contaminants that would otherwise overtake it in the wild. 

Microscopic Features

Spores of this variety are dark purple to brownish. The spores are also subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on 4-spored basidia. They have large golden caps (like B+) that have a convex to conical shape. The stems are very thick in proportion to the cap (like Penis Envy). Also similar to Penis Envy, it has gills that are very tightly packed together, however they are relatively low spore producers.
