Avery’s Albino ISO Information

Isolated spore syringes, also known as ISO syringes, contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than a normal multispore syringe (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present only one phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research.

Avery’s Albino is a variety that is very unique and is an OG to the community. Here we have a variety that is an Albino mutation of the Cambodian specimens. An albino is an interesting mutation as it means the entire mushroom looses its pigmentation. But, this stems deeper than just the mushrooms color. One can see by placing the spores under a microscope that they are actually transparent and bruise blue. Which this is an indication that this is indeed a true albino and not just leucistic.

Avery’s Albino fruits are extremely beautiful with their look. Their pale white color starting at its stem, and is evident all throughout. Avery’s albino stem is medium density, and holds much of its veil once it rips away. The caps are large in size and are convex in shape. They open in maturity to a large flat cap but tend to be very poor spore providers. Hence why they are only available as swabs. Don’t  you worry because we provide each swab with enough material to research easily.

Microscopic Features

Avery’s Albino ISO will have transparent spores. Thus proving the variety to be a true albino and not leucistic like Albino A+, or rusty whyte. It’s subellipsoid (ellipse) in shape and present on a 4-spored basidia. When spores are clear they can bruise blue which leads to the swab appearing blue rather than clear. Once you put them under the microscope, they will be clear.
