T.A.T. “Pearly Gates” Spores Information:

Pearly Gates comes from the “TAT” family and is a cross between True Albino Teachers (OG TAT) and Melmac (Homestead Penis Envy). These genetics are interesting to study for a few reasons. Firstly, like all albino varieties, their spores lack any pigmentation and appear transparent underneath the microscope. Secondly, it’s genetic line make it a must have for any serious spore collector! If you love APE, then you will definitely love Pearly gates! 

True Albino Teachers (TAT) have become extremely popular within the microscopy community in the last year or so. It’s an entirely new genetic line that was first started by Jik Fibs. OG TAT is what started it all. It was an albino mutation observed in 5 specimens in a tub of Golden Teachers. Jik Fibs began to take samples from those albinos and isolate the genetics. Soon, it was completely isolated and produced albino mushrooms every time. Following this was the creation of the Facebook group called the “TAT syndicate.” The TAT Syndicate and Jik Fibs would slowly start stabilizing and releasing new genetics to a select group of very trusted individuals. We are proud to know some of these individuals and now carry these rare genetics that have gained popularity over the last year. 

In order to provide you with the cleanest possible products, we make and package all of the TAT “Pearly Gates” spore swabs in front of Laminar Flow Hoods with HEPA filters. These HEPA filters have an efficiency rating of 99.97%. Meaning that the filter removes 99.97% of particles in the air.

Microscopic Features:

When you buy TAT “Pearly Gates” Swabs its important to note that because they are an albino variety, they will have transparent spores. When spores are clear they can bruise blue leading the swab to appear blue rather than clear. Once you put them under the microscope, they will be clear. The spores are subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on a 4-spored basidia. They are approximately 13×8 micrometers in size. The caps are 40-60mm in diameter with a convex to ovate shape. It is common for the veils not to tear or for the stem to be connected directly to the cap.
