Rusty White ISO Information

Isolated spore syringes, also known as ISO syringes, contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than a normal multispore syringe (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present only one phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research.

Rusty Whyte is a hybrid of Albino A+ and Columbian Rust Spores which gives a double whammy of awesome mutations. First, like Albino A+ it is a leucistic variety (a partial loss of color pigmentation). It is not a true albino as the spores do not lack color pigmentation. Then, like the Columbian Rust Spores, it drops red or rust colored spores! So, specimens are a beautiful white color and they leave a rust spore print. In the end, its a must have for any spore collector.

Rusty White has also been know to go by “Rusty Whyte.” This is due to the fact that the mycologist PastyWhyte has the credit of stabilizing the strain and introducing it to the community. Sonoran Spores thanks him for his hard work that brings us one of the more unique Cubensis varieties.

Microscopic Features

Rusty White spores are rust red to brown in color spores which are approximately 8×13 micrometers in size. Rust pigmentation in spores is an extremely rare and interesting mutation in the mushroom world. The spores are subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. The caps are vary from 15-40mm in diameter with a convex to conic shape, but they are medium to light spore printers.
