Fiji Information

There is not much information known or available on this variety, but that it was genetics brought by the Pacific Island Fiji from the wild. If you were to find these in the grasslands of the south pacific islands you would notice how large the fruiting bodies are, how strong their resistance is to contamination, and their rapid rate for colonizationThis little piece of Fiji came from the islands exotic wild, and is a must have for collectors that want to own different pieces of the world!
 
Fiji is known throughout the community because of how easy it easy to research. Surprisingly, it has even debated to be easier to study then some renown beginner strains like Blue Meanies! Its contaminate resistant nature is not the only great part as its spores are very unique. This makes them easy to see and identify under the microscope. 
 
These fruits of Fiji have just as beautiful fruits as it does spores. The fruit of Fiji contains a light brown to dark brown cream-colored caps and long thick stem. They then grow to a medium-sized fruits with a convex cap. The cap then flattens with maturity which allows for it to drop a medium-sized spore print. In conclusion, this strain is one of the most beginner friendly spores to begin researching on, but their unique features make it great for everyone!

Microscopic Features

Fiji mushroom spores are dark purple to black in color. They are also subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on a 4-spored basidia. Further, they typically have smaller to medium caps that have a convex to conic shape, ranging from 30-65 mm in diameter. They are generally good spore depositors, leaving behind dark spore prints
