Steel Magnolia #5 ISO Information

Isolated spore syringes, also known as ISO syringes, contain mushroom genetics that are more stabilized than a normal multispore syringe (MSS). Great care has been taken to isolate the strongest, fastest, and most hardy genetics that will provide vigorous and more consistent research under the microscope. Multispore syringes contain a great deal of genetic diversity, and therefore can present a multitude of different phenotypes. On the other hand, isolated spore syringes have been stabilized in order to present only one phenotype which will provide the most optimized and consistent research. 

Steel Magnolia #5 is a hybrid of two different Cubensis: Penis Envy and Blue Magnolia. Of course, Penis Envy is the ever popular penis-shaped mushroom that is known for its potent, mind-altering research. Blue Magnolia is a variety that was isolated from a wild mushroom specimen found in Mississippi. It was developed by Mycotek, which is a mycology company. Blue Magnolias are also known to grow quite large.

The 5 in “Steel Magnolia #5” signifies that this is the 5th generation of Steel Magnolia isolates. These mushrooms typically have beautiful gold or brown caps with white stems. The stems in particular tend to be extremely thick, especially at the top near the cap. The caps are very large and bulbous. It’s also common for the caps to ruffle around the edges. They look like the perfect mix of normal Cubensis and Penis Envy.

Microscopic Features

Spores from Steel Magnolia mushrooms can vary in color from dark purple to black. There are subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and are also present on a 4-spored basidia.
