Psilocybe mexicana “A-Strain” Spore Information
Psilocybe mexicana have a rich history that goes back at least 2,000 years. It was a very important part of Aztec culture, specifically. The Psilocybe mexicana mushroom’s main use in their culture was for religious/ceremonial purposes. In the Aztec language it goes by the name of “Teonanacatl” which translates to “God’s Flesh”.
Despite its long history, Roger Heim only introduced Psilocybe mexicana to Western society in 1956. Later, Albert Hoffman would run tests on the specimens and subsequently do the first isolation of psilocybin and psilocin in a lab.
Psilocybe mexicana “A-Strain” especially is in high demand due to its ability to form sclerotia. The A-Strain is able to produce both normal fruits and sclerotia, whereas the B-strain is unable to produce any sclerotia.
Foil prints of these HEPA Grade Mexicana “A – Strain” spores can be hard to come by because they are in such high demand. The difficulty associated with gathering their spores does not help. We make it a mission to try and always carry these spores, although supply shortages can still happen. Because of its rich history and rarity, anyone would be lucky to have this unique variety as an addition to their spore library.

Meaning that the filter removes 99.97% of particles in the air. To make the actual spore solution, we take clean spores and mix them with sterile distilled water. Then, a magnetic stirrer properly mixes the solution to ensure an even distribution of spores throughout the solution.

Microscopic Features
Psilocybe mexicana “A-Strain” have dark purple to brown spores which are approximately 8 x 5 micrometers in size. The spores are ovoid (oval) shaped. The caps are small, around 2-5mm in diameter, rarely growing larger than that. Their caps are convex to umbonate shape. They are generally very light spore printers.
