Scopulicola Information
Trichocereus scopulicola or “Scops” is another species of fast growing columnar cacti that are originally from Bolivia. They are closely related to the San Pedro cactus and can look similar. The main difference between Scop and San Pedro are
- Scops are typically a lighter green color than San Pedro
- Scops typically have very small spines and areoles or can even be completely spineless
- Scops often grow thicker than San Pedro
- Scops commonly do not produce many offsets, whereas San Pedros tend to grow bushy with age
Bridgesii Seedlings Information
Trichocereus bridgesii (syn. Echinopsis lagenformis) or commonly known as “Bolivian Torch” is a fast growing species of columnar cacti that originates in Bolivia. Their natural habitat is drier and more desert-like compared to San Pedro, meaning the Bolivian Torch does not need as much water as the San Pedro but will still grow almost as quickly. Bolivian torches are also highly sought after by ornamental cactus collectors around the world. They are coveted for their beautiful green/blue skin and bright yellow/golden spines, as well as their huge, white flowers.
Dr. G Scop Information
Dr. G Scop is a cultivar of Scopulicola that originates from Dr. Greenthumb Nursery
SS02 Information
SS02 is an extremely popular Bridgesii cultivar that came from the Sacred Succulents nursery. A noticeable characteristic of SS02 is that it typically has shorter spines than your average Bridgesii.
These Specific Seedlings
These seedlings are 50% Scopulicola and 50% Bridgesii. The first cactus listed are the seeds’ “mother”. This is the plant that had the flower that was pollinated and where the fruit & seeds developed. The second plant is pollen donor or considered the “father” plant. For example: Mother cactus x Father cactus
The seeds came from Misplant Seeds, batch #1078. They’re fully rooted and ready to be planted upon arrival.
Each seedling order will include 1 San Pedro sticker
