We will not complete your order if you contact us regarding the cultivation of active spores. Similarly, for legal reasons if you mention cultivation of these spores or ask for cultivating advice, you will be subsequently banned from the site.

Sonoran Spores acquires these spores and photos from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We will not sell any products containing this so do not ask.

Spore Visibility Disclaimer: When you buy Mexicana swabs, the spore visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore swabs will look the same visually. All swabs are unique and may not look identical to each other or the picture above. Despite these visible differences, spore swabs are still viable for microscopy research.

Psilocybe Mexicana “Jalisco” Information

Psilocybe mexicana have a rich history that goes back at least 2,000 years. It was a very important part of Aztec culture, specifically. The Psilocybe mexicana mushroom’s main use in their culture was for religious/ceremonial purposes.  In the Aztec language it goes by the name of “Teonanacatl” which translates to “God’s Flesh”.

Despite its long history, Roger Heim only introduced Psilocybe mexicana to Western society in 1956. Later, Albert Hoffman would run tests on the specimens and subsequently do the first isolation of psilocybin and psilocin in a lab.

Similarly to Mexicana “A-Strain”, Jalisco is also known to produce sclerotia aka truffles. The first specimen was collected a few miles west of Guadalajara.

Spores of Mexicana “Jalisco” can be hard to come by because they are in extreme demand. The difficulty associated with gathering their spores does not help. We very few packs available of this variety so if you’re interested in adding them to your spore library, order now!
