When you buy PE spore syringes, spore visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore syringes or swabs will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they’re still viable for microscopy research. Our Penis Envy spores are one genetic line away (F1 generation) from Sporework’s Penis Envy multi-spore syringes.

Penis Envy is one of the most famous mushroom varieties and it has gained a lot of mainstream attention over the years. This is mainly due to its iconic penis shape. Penis Envy has a genetic mutation that alters the shape of the mushroom entirely. Instead of the standard mushroom shape, they have large thick stems and very rounded caps with veils that often do not tear completely. These phenotypic characteristics make them look like huge penises, hence their name.

Penis Envy have been a fan favorite of many spore researchers for awhile now. Most believe the origins of this mushroom to trace back to somewhere in the Amazon. It was there that Terence McKenna saved a few prints and then brought them back and introduced them into the mycology community.

To make the actual spore solution, we take clean spores and mix them with sterile distilled water. Then, a magnetic stirrer properly mixes the solution to ensure an even distribution of spores throughout the solution.

Microscopic Features

PE Cubensis spores are dark purple to brownish. The spores are also subellipsoid (ellipse) shaped and they are present on 4-spored basidia. The caps are 30-50mm in diameter with a convex to little conic shape. Because the genetic mutation affects the cap of this mushrooms, prints are generally not dropped from the cap and they are generally poor spore producers.
