Disclaimer:
When buying Colombian mushroom genetics, be aware that they’re considered “active spores” which are for microscopy purposes only. DO NOT CONTACT US ABOUT ANYTHING REGARDING CULTIVATING OR GERMINATING ACTIVE SPORES.
Shipping is unavailable to California, Idaho, & Georgia. These 3 states strictly prohibit the possession of spores from psilocybin and psilocin producing mushroom species. Orders to these states will be refused and voided. Any payments made for orders to CA, ID, or GA will incur a $5 cancellation fee.
The provided images are for informational and educational purposes only and should only be used as a reference point. Images and spores are acquired from outside, trusted sources in a legal manner. We do not condone or participate in the cultivation of psilocybin or psilocin producing mushroom species.
When you buy a Colombian mushroom syringe, visibility is dependent on the characteristics of the spores themselves. As a result, not all spore syringes will look the same visibly. Despite any visible differences, they are still viable for microscopy research. More information on how we make our spore syringes and possible visible differences, check out our FAQ or blog post “Making Syringes”.
Origin information
To start this strains origin its pretty obvious that it was found first in Colombia. This is not the only strain from this region as there is another popular variety known as Columbian Rust Spores(CRS). It’s important to note that the CRS mushroom is actually a mutation from the genetics of the Colombian Mushroom. Unlike the CRS, these spores and mushrooms are lacking in that red pigment that give the “rust” part of the name. Which is great for novice microscopist, because these Colombian spores are much more prolific and beginner friendly as well.
The Colombian mushroom is one that is mycologist have admired for many years. The mushrooms boast a dense white stem that can grow tall, up to 10 cm+. On the end of the stem their is a pretty brownish-reddish cap that can be very dark or rather light. One thing that catches everyone’s attention is the caps of these mushrooms. Their caps can grow quite large, especially as they flatten with maturity. Because of this, sometimes the caps will cause the entire shroom to fall over. Bruising is common when harsh handling occurs.
In conclusion, Colombian cubensis are mushroom genetics you don’t want to miss! They offer a good introduction for beginner microscopist to the harder CRS spores. They are also the predecessor to the CRS mushroom, so you can study the effects of before and after a genetic mutation.
